As Vice President
of Technical Operations one of my responsibilities was the P&L of my
organization, staffing, and ov3erall development of the Operations Team.
Each year I would meet with
senior management to review the proposed plans, growth, and sales projections
and help develop the IT budget for the next year. Even with the double digit
growth each year as a publicly traded company there was an enormous pressure to
do more with less. With this in mind I was instrumental in helping reduce the
budget for IT from $17M to just over $12M and from 130+ resources to under 90 in
only two years. While reducing costs and resources I was also able to improve
system reliability, capacity, and migrated our web site entirely in-house.
